Title: Flip side of the question
Published: Editorialcartoonists.com
Date: Sept. 6, 2012
About this cartoon: The big crowd-pleasing question at the 2012 Republican National Convention was, "Are you better off than you were four years ago?" -- a direct lift from the same famous question used by Ronald Reagan to secure his election in 1980, and intended to make the average citizen look at the still-miserable economy and answer "no." The Democrats, at their convention, were able to partly turn the question from "no" to "yes" but only touched lightly on the part of that answer this cartoon addresses.
