About this cartoon: The Bush Administration began turning its attention (finally) to the Mideast conflict, and suggested a "road map" to peace, a sketchy plan of action involving actions and compromises by each side. Israel was clearly unenthused, whereas the new Palestinian Prime Minister — shoved in as Bush sought to exclude Yasser Arafat — couldn't wait for his new state.
Noteworthy: I think the part of Ariel Sharon putting the map away is pretty apt. The part with Arafat driving is less apt, but I needed him in there to carry Abbas' whining.
