Title: Ultra-Orthodox rules
Published: Jewish Journal of Greater Los Angeles
Date: March 11, 2010
About this cartoon: A growing controversy in Israel: the power of the ultra-Orthodox to decide such matters as valid marriages or conversions, who can pray at the Wall and "who is a Jew" has been supported by right-wing governments looking to build coalitions in the Knessset. These ultra-Orthodox rules often work against the Reform, Conservative or secular Jews, and even against "regular" Orthodox jews.
