About this cartoon: With the takeover by Hamas in the Gaza Strip, Israel and the West believed the best investment they could make would be to support Mahmoud Abbas in the West Bank --including freeing up assets and funds to the Palestinians, and the release of prisoners held by Israel -- to suggest to Palestinians a dramtic choice they could make between an isolated Hamas hell and a thriving West Bank (and Fatah) alternative.
