Title: E Pluribus Unum

Date: Jan. 30, 2002
About this cartoon: As the biggest bankruptcy in U.S. history was happening, the details of the company, Enron, were emerging. Besides its "cooking" of its financial records, shredding of documents and financial devastation of its former employees and its behind-the-scenes writing of the nation's energy policies, it also emerged as a huge source of campaign contributions, notably to Bush-Cheney but to a host of other elected officials from both parties as well.
Noteworthy: I was struggling to come up with an Enron cartoon that took a new angle and hadn't already been done by other cartoonists. I think this works as a unique visual and verbal play.
