About this cartoon: Reagan's fixation on his "defensive space shield" program, the Strategic Defense Initiative (aka "Star Wars") sounded like a fantasy -- a pleasant, comforting sort of thing.
Noteworthy: I really had a lot of fun with this cartoon -- one of the last during the year I was the sabbatical fulltime fill-in staff cartoonist in Seattle, Unfortunaely, my choice of shading materials here makes this one that won't reproduce as well as I'd like, especially in print.
