About this cartoon: President Obama lifted the ban by George W. Bush on scientific reasearch involving embyonic stem cells. These cells offer the greatest promise for potentially finding cures for Parkinson's Disease, Alzheimer's Disease, juvenile diabetes, spinal cord injuries and a host of other conditions, but religious objections, equating such research to abortion, kept those cells -- and those potential cures -- off limits for eight years.
