About this cartoon: The deadly shooting rampage in Tucson, Arizona, that killed a federal judge and several other people and nearly killed Democratic Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords took place in the state with the fiercest defense of gun ownership and the loosest gun laws in America. Violent gun imagery and words had been used in the political campaign against Giffords.
