About this cartoon: Yikes! The better part of a trillion dollars to bail out Wall Street firms collapsing from the economic meltdown. The government can't afford to do nothing, alas. And Bush, as is his usual modus operandi, is pushing for Congress to act on the administration's proposal instantly. Fortunately, some members of Congress are inclined to look just a bit closer at the proposal, including seeking more oversight, with some asking that the relief include something for the average citizen as well, not just those firms who screwed up on a colossal scale.
