About this cartoon: A news report noted that a new appropriation request going to the U.S. House would bring the total cost of the Iraq war to a staggering $400 billion. That number is so huge, it's becoming hard to comprehend, so I created this cartoon to try and give more of an idea of what this figure means in real terms.
