About this cartoon: The long-awaited report by the top U.S. commander in Iraq, Gen. David Petraeus, was largely a stay-the-course, things-could-be-worse report, with no real call for any troop withdrawals before summer 2008, and those mostly limited to the ones added by the "surge" from earlier this year.
