About this cartoon: Even as world support for a Palestinian state was increasing, support for its most evident leader, Yasser Arafat, was waning. The fact that many of the suicide attacks against Israel were carried out by factions of his own party suggested he was either given tacit approval to the terrorists, was impotent to stop them or both.
Noteworthy: Colorized for the Web, and it frankly works better in color as the twists and turns of his kaffiya as it morphs into a barrier are easier to see this way.
